Vacation day 15

It's hard to find sugar free candy in Spain.. but I've managed to find chocolate with hazelnuts. They are really good! I also bought different things to drink in case I get really thirsty. =)

On the way to Cabo de palos, we stopped by the beach and enjoyed the view. Later we went to an even smaller town called La Unión. It was quite cozy.. despite the bright yellow station building. Apparently La Unión has some old mines.. maybe that's something to check out next time.

Vacation day 14

Sometimes we shop at this mall: Dos Mares (two seas). It is called that because it is like two arms (peninsulas called La Manga) that embrace a "small" sea. Well, Dos Mares shopping center consists of a hypermarket and lots of expensive shops. There is a movie theater.. where everything is dubbed in Spanish. The entire upper floor of the mall is full of different restaurants. They also have big screens where they show sports. The noise level up there is.. overwhelming. Like any other mall it's forbidden to take photos so I just took a photo outside.. and of the sunset.

Vacation day 13

I have named one of the mountains closest to us "Ahlgrens bilar" (Swedish candy that looks like cars). =)

Today we took a ride in the car without having any goal. By coincidence, we went to a town called Santomera. On the way there, we passed a small village which I think was called El Raal. It consisted mostly of clubs.. for men. I thought it would be fun to take pictures of a place (outside of course) saying that they had streeptease (yes, they spelled it that way).. but just when I was about to pick up my camera a slimy guy came out and stared at me. So I just took a photo of the main street.. through the dirty windshield. There's just too many bugs around here..

Vacation Day 9

We took a trip to IKEA in Murcia where we ate breakfast and I bought a green plant to make it a little cozier in the apartment. It was pretty easy to find IKEA since in Spain they seem to have the motto "The bigger the sign, the better." Then we were in various gigantic shopping malls that was in the same area. There had been an accident in Murcia with lots of traffic jams.. but not on the road we went, thankfully. We don't know what had happened, we just saw a thick, black smoke.

I've been to Murcia several times before but I never noticed that there is a huge statue that looks out over the city. Don't know how I could have missed it. The day ended with a beautiful sunset. :)

Vacation Day 6

There are a lot of markets and fairgrounds here in Spain. You can find all sorts of stuff. One tip is to not buy anything right away because you will probably find it cheaper in another market. Wherever you go, there are sweets. It's really hard to avoid so I have actually sinned and bought donuts and other goodies. But I haven't eaten churros yet. They are so yummy..

Morre and I like to explore areas where tourists don't go. On this day , we happened to end up in the middle of an industrial estate, among a bunch of refineries. It may not be the funniest thing to see.. but we found a cool mountain road that was both steep and had lots of hairpin curves. When we finally got over the mountain, we ended up at a cemetery. It was +35 degrees Celsius so while Morre rested on a bench I went around and took some pictures. I usually don't like cemeteries, but this one felt.. peaceful somehow. Or maybe it was just the heat. =)

Vacation Day 4

We have finally reached our destination: a small town at Mar Menor. The first thing we did was to get some gas at a gas station. I don't know much about butane.. but it didn't seem right to store them in hot sunlight. :/

Later we went to shop for some food and discovered a casino, but I'm not going to play since I'm a cooler. =)

Vacation Day 3

In France they had tasty snacks. Lays Cheeseburgerchips tasted exactly like a real cheeseburger. Unfortunately we haven't found them here in Spain. :(

Vacation Day 1 & 2

Morre and me are already here in Spain but I couldn't connect to the Internet anywhere on the trip so I'll write about it now. :) We started the journey late in the evening and arrived at Helsingborg in the middle of the night. After two boat rides we ended up in Puttgarden where we visited the Border Shop. =) Then we continued through Germany where the weather got really bad, probably the worst I've ever seen. It was cool but at the same time a bit frightening.

Our basic roadtrip food was Corny Free bars. I bought some in Sweden and thanks to my GPS we found some malls in Germany that had lots of Corny Free (without sugar) in many different flavors. :)
